Apple’s Japanese Site Leaks iPhone 4S

If rumors are to be believed, iPhone 4S has seen its earliest official confirmation. Although the company’s press conference on Let’s Talk iPhone is still going on, the Apple Japan website has slipped out the arrival of iPhone 4S at retail in Japan in less than  two weeks, on October 14 at 8:00 AM to be precise.

Although the news has been pulled out as expected, it seems to have muddled with the launch plans of the company. The news however matches up with the earlier reports and with Apple’s habit of launching new products at 8AM the Friday.

These news from Japan snubs all those rumors suggesting earlier that Apple would launch a new iPhone only in the US and Europe. Most other stores are likely to follow suit it seems. Those still wondering about the news, and whether or not the iPhone 4S is real, need not have any more doubts. Apple’s Japanese online store which was first spotted by MacRumors, now simply offers a “Learn More” link about the phone which only leads to another page giving information on iPhone 4S. As this is a translated page, so the English may not be up to the mark.

iPhone 4S, will apparently include an 8-megapixel camera along with other advanced features. However, many other details relating to the gadget are still missing, like the processor, camera, and core design.

The tech media is watching and following every little move about new iPhone Apple 4S is set to launch in 2011. You can also take a look at the black and white images for the iPhone 4S in that have been prematurely posted by Apple. You will note that the handset looks to be much similar to the CDMA iPhone 4. You will also see a “secondary cellular antenna” that would be in order with the 4S’ new antenna design.

iPhone fans have been waiting for the gadget. One can not speculate on the history as Apple seems to be changing its ways with products and launches so much this year. But the truth will be out in a few more days it seems.

As a preliminary cost breakdown by UBM Techinsights and based on past estimates, it is reckoned that Apple’s new phone would cost $203. However, these costs are preliminary and will need to be checked against real devices. Apple is still making a neat profit after taking in carrier discounts and any additional costs, such as advertising and expansion.
