The smartphone tablet war is far from over and some of the top smartphone and tablet companies are trying to bring out their own versions of phones and tablets that can be more functional and appealing to global consumers. Although, Asus is not one of the leading companies in the smartphone tablet competition the company is trying to bring out better hybrid devices that can allow consumers to enjoy smartphone experience that can slot well into a tablet. The all new Asus Padfone 2 is the second attempt by Asus based on the earlier smartphone tablet hybrid device.

So, what really makes Asus Padfone 2 better than its original version? Let’s take a quick look at some of the best features of the device in the Asus Padfone 2 review.

Asus has been listening to all the feedbacks and suggestions that they received when they launched the first version of Padfone and they decided to improve the overall design of the device. The flip cover in the original version is now gone and instead Asus has incorporated the new slotting mechanism to the new Asus Padfone 2. The new design offers easy slide option to the consumers and the design allows snug fit. Asus Padfone 2 also offers vibration feedback to the users to ensure that the phone has been fitted properly in the tablet. Asus has also taken care of the size of the phone and the smartphone is just 9mm thick and weighs less. The overall Padfone station weighs only 649 grams which means that it is lighter than The New iPad.

Asus has not only worked on the design of the Padfone 2 but also on the overall display of the device. The smartphone offers 4.7 inch screen which is better than the earlier version. However, the smartphone is smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S3. The tablet offers 10.1 inch screen which is not HD at the moment. However, Asus claims that they will take this point into consideration for the future versions but that would cost users more.

Asus Padfone 2 incorporates 1.5GHz quad core Snapdragon inside it which allows the smartphone and tablet to work efficiently. The company claims that they would like to offer high end technologies to their consumers at affordable rates and therefore they have incorporated the best chip along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Asus has also promised that they would get the Jelly Bean update soon for the consumers that will only enhance the overall performance of the device. The Padfone 2 also gets 13 megapixel camera offering better photography and video experiences with 720p recording at 60fps. The device also uses Asus SonicMaster for the third time now to offer better audio experience. Asus is also going to offer 50GB cloud storage to boot for the users.

Since the tablet device also has its own battery Asus claims that they are going to offer much more battery life than any other device in the market. Asus has already claim that the 3G standby time of the device is six weeks while 3G talk time is 16 hours. The Padfone 2 can also offer 13 hours of browsing and nine hours of non-stop video.

Asus claims that the overall price of the Asus Padfone 2 will be around $600 and that may be too high when considering it with other devices in the market. However, if you when users think of it as two devices, smartphone and a tablet then Asus Padfone 2 is reasonably cheap.
