The world’s largest Consumer Electronics Show – CES 2012 started on Monday the 9th and is on till 13th January’ 2012 in Las Vegas. Every year the show features more than 2700 exhibitors and is quite an interesting affair to attend as the biggest names in the world of technology disclose their future plans and products to the public. Not only this, around 140,000 visitors arrive across the globe to this tech fest, which definitely tells us how much popular is the show.

Smartphones
Samsung’s Galaxy Note - The most talked about phone with a unique combination of a smartphone and a tablet, this device comes with a 5.3 WXGA AMOLED HD screen(1,280 x 800 pixels), 16 GB of internal memory, 1.5 GHz -dual core processor. The added bonus is the AT&T model will support NFC (Near Field Communication Technology) Sony’s Xperia S – Out of the five smartphones that Sony introduced this one is the most exciting with a 4.3-inch (1280×700 pixels) display, 1.3 MP camera for video calling and 12 MP rear camera.
Currently will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the second quarter of 2012. Motorola’s Droid Razr Maxx – comes with a 8 MP camera the best feature is the battery life which makes sure that you don’t touch your charger for two days at least. Nokia’s Lumia 900 – This phone is essentially the Nokia Lumia 800 but with some additional features like LTE connectivity, dual LED flash camera and bigger screen. HTC Titan II- Armed with a 16 MP camera, dual LED flash, LTE connectivity, it has features like face detection, BSI sensor, Image stabilization and much more.

Tablets
Unexpected low sale of the Android tablets might have made the Electronics companies cautious but it hasn’t made them unenthusiastic towards launching new modals. Acer came up with Acer Iconia Tab A700 loaded with a quad – core processor and Android 4.0
Lenovo got all attention for its two new tablet models namely Ideapad S2 and Tegra 3- powered IdeaPad K2.
Why Toshiba will run slow in the race? Here it is with its new Excite 10 tablet with dual – core TI processor with attractive 10.1- inch Android display.

Laptops
Let’s now talk about the laptops, new products were launched by Acer, Lenovo, Intel, HP, Samsung. From Acer’s Aspire S5(13.3-inch), Lenovo’s Ideapad U Series ultrabooks(13-ich, 1.7kg, 18mm thick), HP’s Envy 14 Spectre(14-inch,21mm thick, Intel core i5 or i7 processor) to Samsung’s Series 5 devices, there was a lot of competition in terms of thickness, weight, screen size and many other features.
The show stealer was Intel’s Nikiski see through notebook, the moment you close the lid it becomes a touchscreen as it features a glass touchpad.

HDTVs
Every year we speak about the new technologies coming up in the TV segment. It won’t be different this year too, from HD, OLED to smart Internet connected TVs, CES 2012 has it all LG’s new 55-inch 4mm-thick OLED HDTV has been the star of the all; unbelievably thin and stunning it definitely grabs your attention. Another feather in the OLED segment is by Samsung, It also promises a 55- inch OLED TV soon. Well may be the OLED time has come finally.
Sony went an extra mile by fusing LCD and OLED, by combining six million LEDs to give the same levels of color, brightness and clarity.
