Google’s Efforts for Safe Browsing

Google has been working hard all these years to provide better and safe browsing experience to the users and therefore the company came up with their own web browser that enhances the overall web experience to the users. Google has now announced that they have been working on Safe Browsing experience for more than five years now and their primary goal is to ensure that users to do not fall prey to malware and spyware that are available on the web. The web browser that they have launched allows them to know more about how they can protect and safeguard their computers from phishing sites and also educate their users.

Over five years, Google has protected more than 600 million users through the in-built features in Chrome, Firefox and Safari that show security warnings to users when they are on sites that can harm their computers. Google said that when they detect any site that is used for phishing or malware they trigger red warning signs that would warn the users and discourage them to use those websites in the future. Google said that this has helped many users who are not sure which sites they should browse in the future.

On the other hand, Google does daily check on viruses and malwares that are connected to the sites and they have found more than 9,500 malicious websites every single day that can compromise the security of innocent web users. These sites are designed to extract the information of the users and then use it against them. The detection techniques that Google has developed are highly accurate which provides them more confidence. Google also provides warnings to various users around the globe from downloading certain files on their computers that can harm their computers. Google claims that they send more than 300,000 warnings on daily basis to users around the world when they download online files.
