Every technological gadget in the market has some positive and negative sides and therefore it is a wise idea to know both sides of iPad 2.

iPad 2 Pros

One of the biggest advantages of the new improved iPad 2 is that it has a thinner profile compare to its predecessor. The Apple iPad 2 is 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter than the original iPad. However, it has the same 9.7 inch LED backlit LCD screen that is one the earlier version of iPad.

The new iPad 2 also has a better battery life and this means that you can stay hooked on to your internet for more hours. The latest version of iPad can deliver 10 hours of battery life which was missing in the earlier original model.

The new front and rear cameras on iPad 2 allows you to make Face Time calls to iPhone 4, iPod Touch and Mac users. The Phone Booth allows you to create special visual effects to your photos.

The iPad 2 comes with the new iOS 4.3 version which is most advanced mobile operating system and it also has new faster Safari for better browsing experience. It also has iTunes Home Sharing and enhancements to AirPlay.

iPad 2 Cons

The price factor of new iPad 2 is one of the main factors why you should stick to regular tablets that you have. The new iPad 2 will be much costlier than the original iPad and therefore it will be somewhere around $500 and above.

Apple has announced that they will soon come up with an update of iOS 4.3 for original iPad users. Hence, if you don’t want to waste your money you can sit tight for some time and upgrade your original iPad to iOS 4.3 which will have 95% of all features available in iPad 2. Apple has also announced that they will be launching their new iOS 5 this summer or fall and that will be for iPad and iPad 2 so that should also keep you from buying the new version of iPad.

iPad 2 is certainly thinner than the original iPad and therefore it is more vulnerable to get damage easily. Hence, you will have to buy Smart covers for your iPad 2 that will ensure that your new iPad last longer. This means that you will have to spend extra bucks on covers to safeguard your iPad 2.
