Skype has always remained one of the popular VoIP software on the internet that can allow you to make calls and also send instant messages to your contacts around the globe. Skype has now made an announcement that they have launch Skype 5.8 for Mac that will provide better communication experience to Mac clients. The company said that the new Skype 5.8 update comes with many features that will improve the user experience.
Skype 5.8 for Mac Features
- Reposition Your Contacts – Skype is definitely listening to the feedbacks provided by the customers. Tony Bates, President of the Skype Division for Microsoft said that many customers at the D10 Conference said that they would like have their slim contact list back in the new version. Skype for Mac has that feature where users can reposition and resize the contact list the way they want it. Skype said that this feature will make it more convenient for the users to put their contact list wherever they want on the screen.
- Auto Rotation Feature – Skype video calls are more popular through various smartphones and therefore Skype has come up with the auto rotation feature that rotates on its own when users are using Skype for iPhone, Skype for iPad or Skype for Android. This feature will also be available for Skype for Windows. The software will recognize that the mobile device has rotated from portrait to landscape or the other way around and will change the screen as well.
- Multiple Users Screen Sharing – Skype has finally improved the screen sharing option. The software now allows you to share your desktop screen with more users so that your friends can see the pictures that you have on your desktop. However, some screen sharing options are only for Premium subscribers.
- Compatibility with OS X Mountain Lion – Skype has made sure that Skype 5.8 works with some of the newest operating system from Apple. The new update will work with OS X Mountain Lion and also with past versions like OS X Leopard.
