Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and XPAND 3D Join Hands for 3D Technology

The craze for 3D technology is not only driving the consumers crazy but also the companies that manufacturer these 3D devices and gadgets. Recently, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and XPAND 3D have joined hands to come up with a better technology for consumers that can provide them with better 3D active glasses. This new technology has been named as Full HD 3D Glass Initiative. This is definitely going to be the agreement that one has to watch out because all these companies are interested in flooding the market with state of the art 3D technology that will change the world.

With this new agreement all the companies will work together on the development and licensing of radio frequency (RF) system 3D active glasses technology. As per the information these 3D glasses will be used for watching 3D on televisions, projectors, personal computers and even in 3D theaters. However, this standardization will include multiple types of infrared (IR) system protocols between 3D active glasses and 3D displays. This means that there will be a standardization of all the protocols jointly developed by Panasonic, XPAND 3D, Sony and Samsung. Hence, with this initiative all the four companies will introduce universally active 3D glasses to the market.

Masayuki Kozuka, General Manager of Media and Content Alliance Office, Corporate R&D Division, Panasonic Corporation said that Panasonic has been working to standardize 3D glasses technologies. He further said that the company is pleased that they have joined hands with other participant companies and together they will create the 3D technology that will help the consumers to experience their entertainment in 3D. Jurack Chae, Vice President, R&D Team, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said that Samsung always works hard to meet consumer demands and recently they have been focusing on 3D technology which is why they have launched 3D HDTVs in the market.
