Samsung Team Up with Verizon for FiOS TV App

Samsung is trying to merge with some of the leading companies to take the consumer electronics to the next level. Now, Samsung Electronics America has made an announcement that they have team up with Verizon that will allow them to come up with the FiOS TV app that will be compatible with the Samsung Smart TV and Samsung Blu-ray players. Samsung made an announcement that this is the first of its kind app that is compatible with Samsung Smart hub platform that will let Verizon FiOS TV and FiOS internet subscribers to watch 26 live FiOS TV channels on Samsung televisions and blu-ray players.

Samsung said that many of the consumers would love to watch their favorite movies and television shows on the bigger screen and therefore they have created this app that does not require any set top box. The company said that both Samsung and Verizon are looking forward to provide their customers with better entertainment options and this app will allow them to have TV Everywhere facility. Verizon is currently the first TV provider in the United States that offers video content to the internet subscribers directly through Samsung Smart Hub App Store which will allow them to get more customers in the future.

Many of the FiOS subscribers that have FiOS TV of FiOS internet subscription can download the app from the free FiOS TV app location and then use it on the compatible Samsung HDTVs without any need for set top box or any other secondary connections.
