Sony Focuses on Xperia ICS Update

Sony has already made the announcements for the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade that they are providing for all the Xperia smartphones. The company has already said that the first upgrade rollout plans for Xperia smartphones will involve Xperia NXT series which includes Xperia S, Xperia U and Xperia P. The company said that the first rollout will happen in the end of June 2012 for Xperia S, after which upgrades for Xperia P and Xperia U will follow. Sony also said that they are looking forward to upgrade the 2011 smartphones like Xperia Arc S, Xperia Ray and Xperia Neo V which are currently in the upgrade phase.

The company also revealed that once they have done with the upgrades for the 2011 smartphones they will look out for other models that were launched in the previous year. These smartphones include Xperia Arc, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman. The company has confirmed that the upgrades for these phones will begin next week.

However, the company has said that they are currently working with their developers on the upgrade of Sony Xperia Play that has been having some problems. Many of the researches have proved that the phone is not able to stay stable once the upgrade is done and therefore it could be that Sony would decide not to upgrade the Sony Xperia Play. However, the company is still in discussion with their teams and will watch out for more demos that can confirm the news.
