We all are aware that our planet is constantly under threat because of all the pollution that we are creating. Hence, many companies are now coming forward with their initiatives to come up with different eco-friendly technologies that can save the world from further pollution and destruction. Sony is the leading global innovator of audio, video and communication devices and they have now merged up with WWF to provide some eco-friendly ideas that would help them to come up with new technologies that would not harm the environment at all. Sony’s Concepts is a kind of initiative where people from any part of the world can submit their innovations which is eco-friendly and that does not harm the environment or sap its resources.
The concepts sent by the people will be judged by some of the leading technological experts to see if those concepts can work out in the real world and brought to life. Innovative ideas like GreenpatH which uses the GPS technology for the drivers so that they can find their destinations quickly has already been one of the concepts that has received good response. The technology helps the drivers to understand how to save CO2 emissions and money while they are moving from one place to another.
Emily Nicoll, General Manager of Environmental Communications at Sony Europe said that Sony is really overwhelmed with the kind of response they have received from the people. She said that they have been receiving a lot of projects and fantastic ideas which are submitted on their online community. There are users who are sharing the information and applauding each other’s concepts on the site which is really encouraging to see. The concept’s site will be taking in more concepts from the people until midnight 13th December after which they will begin the evaluation process internally.
