Sony is now coming up with better Xperia models which are very youth-centric. Recently, Sony Mobile Communications decided to launch Sony Xperia P which will join the club of some of the most elite-looking smartphones that Sony has ever produced. The Sony Xperia P is very attention seeking smartphone that will appeal to youngsters that want to make a lasting impression, but has Sony incorporated enough features to make it one of the best Xperia smartphones in the market. Let’s take a quick look at some of the top features in the Sony Xperia P review below.
Design
Sony has focused on the design of Xperia P and to some extent the model looks identical to Xperia S. It has a curved angle on the back to make it comfortable in the hands with a transparent strip which indicates that this phone belongs to the NXT category. The aluminum body on the exterior provides a premium feel to the overall design. On the front side there are three capacitive keys, Back, Home and Menu and the set up is better than Xperia S. The transparent strip below has a cool white backlight to make phone look attractive in the dark. MicroUSB, microSIM and microHDMI are on the left while Power/Lock button, volume rocker and shutter keys are on the right.
Display
Sony Xperia P comes with TFT LCD Reality Display which is qHD 540 x 960 resolution. Sony has backed this technology with Mobile BRAVIA engine for improved image rendering. Sony has also incorporated White Magic technology to it. However, to some extent the White Magic technology does not work to provide better resolution in outdoor scenarios.
Operating System
Unfortunately, Sony Xperia P runs the old version of Android Gingerbread 2.3.7. Sony has said that the phone will receive an ICS update in next few months. The OS provides five home screens that can be deleted and added. The operating system also supports various Sony widgets like Timescape widget and Mediascape for photos and videos.
Other Features
Sony Xperia P has dual core 1GHz Cortex A9 CPU, 1GB RAM. It also has 8 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash and geotagging. It has 16GB built-in storage and NFC technology.
