The New iPad has made its way into the tablet market and is doing great as usual. Consumers are now anxiously awaiting the much rumoured and bigger Amazon Kindle Fire HD, which is supposed to be coming out by the end of November 2012, though orders for the Kindle Fire HD can be placed right now.
From what we have heard about the Kindle Fire HD, it is a bit smaller than the new iPad, but is also much thinner and therefore has a lighter weight to handle. As is heard, the Kindle Fire HD is going to give a tough time to the new iPad in the market, based on its price and matched performance.
The number of sales is perhaps the biggest way of comprehending which tablet does better with the consumers; therefore we will have to wait for that. Beating the high – pedestalled Apple’s iPad is not going to be a walk in the park because of its standing reputation of being the innovator of tablets in the market of hi-tech gadgets. Although, consumers always wait anxiously for the unveiling of Apple’s next gadget in town and pay a high price to carry this brand, are they still going to pay a considerable amount of more money for the Apple’s logo, even if they can get similar performance for a lower price?
From the table of comparison listed below, we are going to view the exact specifications of each of the tablet to gain a better insight and understanding. Where one is going to lack, the other is going to surprise you. Therefore it is going to come down to the difference in price of both the products. Of course producing such technology costs some serious money; but where one is gaining a high profit margin at the time of sale, the other hopes to make profit through the after-sale marketing promotions.

Operating System |
The new iPad runs on iOS 5.1, for now at least; because it is expected that Apple is soon going to upgrade it iOS 6. This operating system offers, the user, an access to more than 500,000 apps from the Apple App Store. And we all know that Apple has never disappointed consumers in terms of quality where tablet-optimized apps are concerned. | The Amazon Kindle Fire HD runs on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich; it needs to be added here that this version is heavily modified and is ad-supported. Although because of the modified version of ICS, you won’t be able to notice it and Google’s products might seem non-existent. However Kindle Fire HD does allow access to Amazon’s tens of thousands of vital apps and not to mention access to unlimited collection of TV shows, movies, magazines and much more. |

Internal Hardware |
The new iPad is run by the new A5X SoC (system on chip) which is probably the fastest chip in the tablet market right now. It has a dual core processor, quad core graphics processor and 1GB RAM. The CPU and GPU tests confirm that this is the fastest tablet. | Kindle HD is run by Texas Instruments OMAP 4470 dual core chip with 1GB RAM which is probably going to be as fast as the SoC chip but is not comparable with iPad in GPU test, which is way better. |

Screen |
A big 9.7 inch (diagonally) retina display that is an LED screen with backlit IPS TFT. The screen resolution is equivalent to 2048 X 1536pixels, with a pixel per inch density of 264 (which by the way is a record amongst all other tablets.) | Kindle Fire HD has a 8.9 inch display with a screen resolution of 1920 X 1200 pixels. The screen is definitely smaller than the iPad, but because of its size, you get almost the same PPI density which is 254. So not much difference there in the viewing quality. Also the Fire HD has an anti-glare screen which gives it an edge over the iPad 3. |
